Duncan studied chemistry at Leeds University before qualifying as a chartered accountant. He began his career working for Price Waterhouse and then became a senior auditor at Ernst & Whinney in Paris.
He joined Mazars Paris in 1980, moved to Mazars London in 1983 where he worked his way up to become a partner (now Mazars Neville Russell) in 1994. He is now Finance Manager at Equity. Duncan was Honorary Treasurer of Breakthrough from 1998 to 2009.
