Following a career in corporate sales and marketing with the US computer manufacturer Compaq, Sarah had ten years’ fundraising experience for national and international ‘umbrella’ charities including Crossroads, Kids’ Clubs Network and Befrienders International. After her first breast cancer diagnosis in 1999 she decided to change career and move into executive search and selection. Having spent eleven years working in niche voluntary sector recruitment firms placing charity chief executives, trustees and fundraisers, Sarah is now working on a freelance basis which fits in better with her recent diagnosis of metastatic stage IV breast cancer.
Previously a voluntary Director of the London Symphony Chorus, Treasurer of Lambeth Crossroads and Vice-Chair of the UK Breast Cancer Coalition, Sarah is also a Governor at the Godolphin & Latymer School. She has served as Vice-Chair of the Oncology User Liaison Group at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Trust and represented the South East London Cancer Network as a user on the Pan-London Cancer Networks Steering Group. She was awarded a Masters in Voluntary Administration from the Centre for Government and Charity Management at London South Bank University in 2007.
Sarah has been a Trustee of Breakthrough Breast Cancer since June 2004.
