 Booby birds

Breakthrough Booby Birds is back, striving to bring together a bold and courageous group of successful women ready to stand in unison against breast cancer, throwing aside personal fear in a set of audacious tandem sky-dives.

Each woman will be asked to raise £20,000 by jump day to help support Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s pioneering research.

When business psychologist Tina Korup’s best friend Christine was diagnosed with breast cancer, Tina felt helpless in trying to ease the feelings of fear, panic and anxiety that her friend was experiencing. However, determined to stand in solidarity with Christine, Tina came up with a ground-breaking idea. She would not sit idly by. Instead, she would face her own fears and skydive.

From one woman’s stubborn determination came a valiant corps of accomplished women, united by a group parachute jump and a collective stance against breast cancer. Twenty one brave and bold women have now taken to the skies, raising nearly half a million in the process.

If you are interested in finding out more or being part of this inspirational group of women in 2012, please contact Gemma Cambron on gemmac@breakthrough.org.uk or 020 7280 4292.
