Answer:
If you are concerned about your family history you should visit your GP to discuss these concerns. Your GP will be able to let you know what your family history means to you or if you may benefit from genetic testing. Genetic testing is currently only offered to women who have a strong family history of breast cancer. For information on what would be considered a strong family history.
and for more information on genetic testing.
It is important to remember that only around 1 in 20 of all breast cancers are due to inherited faults in breast cancer genes. Breast cancer is thought to be caused by a combination of our genes, lifestyle and environment, however very little is known about the exact causes.
