Complementary therapies, such as relaxation techniques, massage, acupuncture and aromatherapy can help to ease the side effects of conventional treatment and improve your wellbeing.
They do not, however, aim to cure any disease and are used alongside conventional treatments.
If you are receiving treatment for breast cancer, check with your specialist before you take any complementary therapies, such as supplements, to make sure they don’t interfere with your conventional treatment.
Therapies used in place of conventional treatments are called ‘alternative therapies.’ At Breakthrough, we don’t advise using alternative therapies.
