Breast cancer touches too many people’s lives. Every month it causes more than 1,000 deaths in the UK. But we can make a difference, with your help. We are asking you to raise £1,000 for breast cancer research, however and whenever you can.
"I know from personal experience the devastating effect cancer can have on a family. That’s why I've taken up Breakthrough's £1,000 Challenge - it’s my way of celebrating and honouring my mother, who we sadly lost to cancer. I am nominating her name to appear on the Challengers' Wall at Breakthrough's Breast Cancer Research Centre, along with the thousands of other people who are being honoured by loved ones.

In return for this very significant achievement, we pledge two things. First, your money will go into vital breast cancer research. And second, your gift will honour someone you love.
Their name will be displayed permanently on our £1,000 Challengers' Wall, in Breakthrough’s Breast Cancer Research Centre, where we recognise the bravery and strength of those who have suffered from breast cancer and the enormous contribution of Challengers in funding our Research Centre and making it reality.

There are all sorts of ways you can raise money. Here are just a few ideas: walks, bike rides, balls, gala dinners, golf tournaments, marathons, breaking a habit, breaking a record. You can work towards the challenge individually or as a team.And there are all sorts of ways our dedicated support and advice team can help you, from providing financial planning to advice on fundraising events.
