Avon and Breakthrough
In 1999 Avon provided a third of the money needed to open our Research Centre. Today, it continues to make huge contributions to our fundraising, awareness and research projects.
Fundraising
Avon’s Breast Cancer Crusade is its global breast cancer awareness and fundraising campaign. Through this project, Avon and Breakthrough have raised over £16 million to date.
Avon very generously sell a number of Crusade products that benefit Breakthrough Breast Cancer. To see what products are on offer this year, visit http://avonshop.co.uk/beauty/b/your-causes/crusade-products.html
Avon Pink Pamper Party
Since 2007 Avon Representatives and customers have been making fundraising beautiful by hosting Avon Pink Pamper Parties in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. They have been the perfect excuse for Avon Representatives and customers to gather friends and family for some well-earned pampering, whilst raising money to fight breast cancer.
So far we have raised an incredible £125,000 which has gone directly towards Breakthrough’s life-saving research. If you are an Avon Representative or customer and would like to get involved please visit the Avon Pink Pamper Party website to find out more - www.avonpinkpamper.org.uk/
Awareness
Having direct contact with so many women across the country, Avon has a unique opportunity to raise the importance of breast awareness and has continually worked with Breakthrough to spread this message.
Research
Every year, one third of Avon’s contribution to Breakthrough goes to our Dr Avon clinical fellowship program. This allows talented doctors to carry out scientific research into breast cancer. Known affectionately as ‘Dr Avons’ these doctors provide a link between the laboratory and the hospital, enabling our research to benefit patients as quickly as possible.
The Dr Avons programme is central to our approach to translational research.
Anna Segatti, Group Vice President, Avon Western Europe and Middle East"As a breast cancer survivor, I know the importance of being breast aware. I am determined to make a difference and spare more women from this terrible disease. Help us to Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer."
