Her daughter had already been a challenger for the charity and after helping her, Maureen decided to carry out the challenge herself.
Maureen was able to raise £1,000 in two years and didn't stop there, in fact, the events have begun to increase in size over the years. Most recently Maureen hosted an event in a church hall to a total of 100 people. Guests were treated to food and were able to purchase cakes, cards and jewellery.
