Helen Bird completed her 3rd annual walk on Mother's Day in Redditch, West Midlands. Helen has been organising her walk since October 2007 following her own diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer.

Helen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 when her youngest child was just nine weeks old. After successfully finishing treatment in March 2007, she decided to start fundraising for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Organising the walks has provided Helen with a focus and a way to fundraise for a charity that is close to her heart, as well as getting to know more people in her community. Since her first walk she has raised over £7,000 for Breakthrough and has had at least 80 walkers each year.
