In total the salon, which has only 8 stylists, raised an amazing £4925! To raise this money a Pink Party was held in the town’s Coronation Hall, which included a guest appearance by Steven Hall, a finalist from Britain’s Got Talent. The following day saw two salon staff, Harry Stainton and Lisa Johnson, complete a sponsored parachute jump.

Janette Stainton, the Salon Manager said, “We loved fundraising throughout October. As well as it being a huge amount of fun, it was amazing to know that our fundraising efforts would help such a worthwhile cause. To be named the top fundraiser is a great achievement and we will continue to support Breakthrough Breast Cancer and ghd in their fight against breast cancer.”

As well as the £2000 prize the salon has won a tour of Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s Manchester Research Unit. Salon staff will learn about the life-saving work of the Breakthrough scientists and be able to see how the money they raised will help fight breast cancer.

Upmarket soft drinks brand bottlegreen also supported the campaign by providing a luxury hamper for each of the seven top fundraising salons – with one winner in each UK region.
