Since 2004 ghd and Breakthrough Breast Cancer have worked together to generate a massive £5 million to fund lifesaving breast cancer research, campaigning and education work.
Each year ghd produces a unique, limited-edition pink styler range and makes a donation to Breakthrough from the proceeds of each sale. The 2011 Limited Edition Pink Orchid ghd styler worked the season’s pink and black lace trend and featured a sheer lace print layered over the season's colour, hot orchid pink, to create a super slick design. For the first time ever, the 2011 Pink limited edition featured the ghd Gold Series Classic Styler with the styling plates transformed into a vibrant shade of hot orchid pink.
ghd also motivates its huge network of stockists to support Breakthrough during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, salons nationwide turn pink and host fundraising activities in support of Breakthrough and ghd's Pink campaign. A wide variety of fundraising activities take place including pink days, fancy dress, pamper parties, sponsored walks, wax-a-thons, raffles, competitions and bike rides.
Since the partnership began eight years ago salon fundraising has raised an incredible £740,000. The 2011 season has so far raised over £100,000 – a big thanks to everyone who has supported the campaign so far!
