Glossary Term

DNA (or DeoxyriboNucleic Acid) is the genetic material inherited from one generation to the next. It is found in most of the cells of the human body. DNA is like a thread made up of genes and regions separating genes. Thread-like DNA is carefully folded to give chromosomes.
