I didn't really know what to organise or who to contact, but then I saw a post on Facebook for a local zoo asking if anyone had any ideas for any themed weekends. 'PINK', I thought and off it snowballed! We had a pink fun day at Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens in Ponteland; I also arranged to have a breast cancer awareness stall at my local Hobbycraft who provided one of their members of staff to facepaint with the proceeds going to Breakthrough and I organised a pink cheerleading night at my daughter's dance class. We have given out leaflets, sold pink cakes, sold my handmade cards, had tombolas and raffles, sold donated second hand books and had fun whilst doing it. I loved every minute of it and couldn't have done it without my Mam (who is a breast cancer survivor of 22 years), my Dad who took lots of photos and my friends who helped on the stalls. We raised just over &pound;800 in October and my total for 2011 altogether was just over &pound;1300.
