Pinking up the Pub !!

Saturday 22^nd October 2011, The Green Man Pub, Royston went pink for Breakthrough.   Pink drinks, pink glow sticks, pink wigs, pink cowboys and pink t-shirts.  The evening saw local acoustic acts Dave Quilty, Kieran White and Ian Francis, followed by charity group supporter Run for Cover.  The music during the evening was sensational and the group would like a huge thank you to go out to all the artists who donated their time for free, also a special thank you to the sound engineer for the evening Phil Darke who also gave his time voluntarily.  Our group member Darren Honey even managed to steal the microphone for his own interesting version of Mustang Sally.  Over the course of the evening two raffles were held, with generous prizes donated by Saks, The Sports Kit and MVC.  The raffle raised £119.00.  The pink cocktail behind the bar (mixed by the pubs very own Andy Hoy) was a huge success and even the butchest of men were seen slurping the pink tipple.  An impromptu auction of Jagermeister and Pink Bubbles was also held which raised another £42.00.  Pink glow sticks were on sale all night which our two boys Jamie and Darren did amazing job selling. The whole evening was a huge success which we thoroughly enjoyed, but it was only made possible with the fantastic support of Andy (Pub landlord) and his amazing team.  As long term charity fundraisers we often have to work very hard  to get help with our events, but with this event nothing was too much trouble.  Andy, The Green Man Staff and the Green Man Punters, you are all amazing, thank you.  The success of this evening saw us raise a brilliant total of £ 627.40 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer !!
