Longstowe Crocus Walk 2011
This years Crocus Walk was held in Longstowe and was a huge success.
BillieWe had such a lovely time on Saturday, I just wanted to thank you both. The walk was in-credibly well organised and the reception after-wards was splendid, no detail overlooked even down to the box of Bonios for the dogs! I never win on raffles, so that was also a real treat. One of the highlights was meeting your family Hayley - Sophie and Dylan are both gorgeous. I hope you enjoyed it too but I expect you're relieved it's over and that the weather was so perfect.
The 2nd April 2011 was the 9th annual Crocus Walk organised by the North Herts & South Cambs group.
The day saw a 118 people (both old faces and new) arrive and walk in honour of Mother’s Day.The group were lucky again this year with the weather which was warm and bright. The 5 mile route took walkers through beautiful landscape and across quaint bridges. Luckily the sun had dried up some of the mud, so conditions were more favourable than the practice walks. Although one of the doggy walkers still man-aged to find a muddy puddle.Once back at the hall walkers were once again spoilt by a fabulous choice of cakes and treats, wonderfully served by our willing and well organised trollie dollies.
The group would like to make the following thanks yous :- to the tea ladies (and gent) who stayed back during the walk to get all the goodies plated up and ready; to all the wonderful people who made and donated all the fabulous cakes, to Dick and Kathy for sourcing such a brilliant venue for our walk , to all our raffle prize donors and of course not forgetting all our walkers. Without you all the day would not be such a success.
The raffle raised a brilliant £136.00 and additional donations for food totalled £131.00. So thank you for all your generosity, we can proudly announce that this years total is a magnificent£ 1518.00 !
A message from Kate at Breakthrough :-I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say a huge thank you for all your hard work on Saturday and for inviting me along too.
