Breakthrough record attempt....

Relaxation and calm pervaded Saffron Walden Common on the morning of Sunday 25th July as 90 people took part in the Tai Chi World Record Attempt to achieve 40,000 people having a Tai Chi session simultaneously over the UK.

Raising £206 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, people of all ages joined in a taster session with local Tai Chi Instructor Stephanie Shambrook of the Tai Ji Quan Yi group.

"It was an amazing sight to see so many people joined together in the quiet slow focused movement of the first moves of the Yang Family Style. Tai chi improves circulation, creates flexibility and develops stillness and concentration. Whilst doing something healthy for themselves they have contributed to the improved health of others. Thank you to all those who took part.

Now the list and photos of participants from all over the UK will be sent to the assessors of the Guinness Book of Records and we will find out in 6 weeks whether we have been successful.
