We can offer you the opportunity to pursue a fulfilling and rewarding career where you can be confident that you are making a real difference.

We offer a competitive reward package to attract and retain our team of professional, talented and enthusiastic people.

Financial

  • Competitive pay levels - We regularly review pay to ensure that our salary levels remain competitive.
  • Pension - We operate a group personal pension plan where Breakthrough Breast Cancer will match any contributions which you pay, up to a maximum of 7% of your gross salary. That means we’ll be helping you to build up your own ‘pension pot’ which you’ll use to buy a pension when you retire. Furthermore, if you join the salary exchange scheme, you will make savings on your income tax and National Insurance contributions.
  • Life insurance - You will have life insurance cover of four times your gross salary, an extra bit of peace of mind for you and your family.
  • Loans - To assist with the cost of travel to work, we offer interest-free loans for buying a season ticket or a bicycle.
  • Thank you awards - ‘Thank-you’ awards are paid in recognition of a job exceptionally well done or for work undertaken outside of your normal remit. These are usually in the form of gift vouchers.

Professional development

  • Employee development programme - We offer a range of learning and development opportunities which support your personal and professional development. Our development offerings include formal training programmes, mentoring, coaching and stretch opportunities to develop you in your role.
  • Professional membership - Breakthrough Breast Cancer will pay recognised professional membership fees.
  • Further education - If you undertake any job-related professional studies, Breakthrough Breast Cancer will pay your tuition fees. In addition, you will be given paid time off for study and exams.

Family friendly

  • Childcare vouchers - We run an approved childcare voucher scheme which offers income tax and National Insurance contribution savings when paying for child care.
  • Family leave - You will receive enhanced benefits, above the statutory minimum, if you are absent from work on maternity, paternity, adoption or parental leave.
  • Maternity leave - If eligible, you will receive enhanced maternity pay of 20 weeks full pay and a further 19 weeks pay at the appropriate statutory rate.
  • Flexible working arrangements - Anyone at Breakthrough Breast Cancer can request a flexible working arrangement, such as part-time or compressed hours.

Work life balance

  • Flexible hours - Our working arrangements are flexible around the core hours of 10am to 4.30pm.
  • Home working - We will also consider requests to work from home if the need arises.
  • Annual leave - Annual paid leave entitlement is 28.5 days a year plus Bank Holidays. This increases to 30 days after 2 years and 32 days after 5 years service.
