Dr Caitlin Palframan, Policy Manager at Breakthrough Breast Cancer said:

“This study supports existing research which shows that using HRT can raise the risk of breast cancer.  Current recommendations are that HRT should only be used for the shortest effective time at the lowest effective dose.

We hope to learn more about the connection between HRT and breast cancer through our Breakthrough Generations Study of 100,000 women.

Women who are worried about HRT increasing their breast cancer risk should speak to their GP about their options.”
