A report out today suggests that UK breast cancer mortality rates have fallen faster than in other European countries.

Director of Policy, Maggie Alexander commented:

"This is very positive news and a trend that we hope to see continue.  Due to increased awareness, better screening and more effective treatments, the UK has seen a dramatic decrease in mortality rates.

However, breast cancer is still the most common cancer in the UK and there is still more to do to build a future free from the disease.  That is why it is vital that we continue to invest in breast cancer research and services including breast screening."
