Elodie Noël began her scientific education at the University of Dijon in France before moving to the United Kingdom as an Erasmus student in 2001. She graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BSc. in Applied Microbiology in 2004.

In June 2004, Elodie moved to London to study for a PhD in Cancer Genetics at the Institute of Cancer, Queen Mary University of London.

Elodie is the first Sarah Greene Research Fellow working at the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Unit at King’s College London. Her position is funded by the generous support of the Greene family, in memory of Sarah Greene who sadly died of triple-negative breast cancer at the age of 44. Elodie works on identifying novel targets and prognostic markers in basal-like breast cancer.

“Cancer research is like car engineering. Triple-negative breast cancer is like a broken down vehicle and we, scientists and clinicians, have to figure out what went wrong. At the Research Unit, we aim to understand better the mechanics based on genetic or genomic knowledge so that the car gets started again”.
