Kerry will be taking part in the Virgin London Marathon for Breakthrough for the 2nd time in 2011 for very personal reasons.

"I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in October 2008. I had a masectomy and reconstruction in December 2008, chemotherapy from February to August 2009 and radiotherapy in September/October 2009.

My aim for 2010 was to just get round the course and to raise as much money as possible for a great charity.

I did the Great North Run 2 days after having a mammogram and biopsy, and was diagnosed 4 days after the run, so to be able to take part in the London Marathon takes me full circle and will help me confirm that I'm back again, and maybe a new improved model too! It was great to have something so big to focus on, and just getting out in the fresh air was brilliant.

There are so many negatives attached to cancer, but I have taken so many positives from this whole experience. Looking forward I'm going to go for my personal best in 2011 and hope to complete the course in under 5 hours."
