  • Practice taking off your wetsuit - while it's wet! This will really help you with the transition from swim to cycle. Time yourself while you do it and keep trying to beat your time
  • Bring a box along with you on the day to store your equipment (trainers, wetsuit etc) to make it easier for yourself during transition
  • Go through the transition area before the race and know where the entries and exits are for the swim, bike and run. If you are not sure, ask before the race begins.
  • Make a list of all the equipment you will need on race day and pack it the day before. Lay out your gear the night before as you are likely to be nervous and tired
  • Stay calm in your transition, there is no need to get flustered, sometimes gear gets moved and knocked or someone drops a wetsuit on it. If you stay calm you are much more likely to find it and have a smooth transition.

If you're taking part in the London Triathlon:

  • Race packs will be sent out 3 weeks before the event - please let us know if you change your address
  • Jenson Button and Vernon Kaye will be taking part alongside you
  • Remember where you rack your bike! It seems obvious, but the London Triathlon is the biggest in the world and it's easy to forget where it's racked
  • Bring along hydration for the bike section: there won't be any water points on this part of the course
