Our new research units

The Breakthrough Research Centre, renowned for its groundbreaking research the world over, is nearing full capacity.
Building on the success of the centre, we have announced plans for three new Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Units in Edinburgh, London and Manchester.

Breakthrough Research Unit, Edinburgh

The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Unit at The University of Edinburgh will aim to improve and develop treatments for breast cancer.

Breakthrough Research Unit, King's College London

The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Unit at King’s College London will investigate a poorly understood type of breast cancer called basal-like breast cancer, which is more common amongst young women and those of African origin.

Breakthrough Research Unit, Manchester

The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Unit at The University of Manchester will focus on developing new ways to detect and prevent early breast cancer.
