Predicting disease outcome
Predicting disease outcome - the prognosis
The prognosis of a disease is a prediction about how the disease will progress.
The prognosis may predict that a cancer is not aggressive or that it is particularly aggressive and may have a greater tendency to spread.
Currently, there is no accurate method for predicting how breast cancer will develop. Yet such prediction is critical in determining the treatment that is best for a patient's breast cancer.
