Breakthrough scientist wins award
Dr Jorge Reis-Filho, Team Leader of the Molecular Pathology laboratory, has recently won an award for his outstanding research.Dr Reis-Filho has won the title of CL Oakley Lecturer for 2007. The Lectureship was founded in 1979, in honour of the late Professor CL Oakley, and is awarded each year to a young scientist to stimulate original investigative studies and to encourage and reward their research efforts.
As part of the award, on 4th July Dr Reis-Filho will give a key speech at the Fourth Joint Meeting of the British Division of the International Academy of Pathology and the Pathological Society of Great Britain & Ireland - the largest Pathology Meeting in the UK.
