This year saw the set-up of Breakthrough’s first clinical trial. In partnership with Cancer Research UK, The Breakthrough and Cancer Research UK Genetic Breast Cancer Trial will be the first study in the world to specifically address chemotherapy treatment for women with hereditary breast cancer.

The trial has evolved from the work of Dr. Andrew Tutt of Professor Alan Ashworth’s team at the Breakthrough Research Centre.
