Evaluating your campaign

Campaigning can be fun but there are also times when you feel that all your hard work may not be getting through.
Campaigning requires a lot of patience and persistence. It may be a while before your voice is heard and positive action is taken, but don’t be disheartened. If you know change is needed then keep going and don’t give up!
Evaluating the impact of your campaign
When you come to think about evaluating the impact of your breast cancer campaign you could start by asking yourself a few very broad questions:- Have things changed over time?
- Who was affected by the change?
- How significant was the change?
- Was the change intended or not?
- Was it change for the better?
- What made it happen?
Targets and messages
You could then assess the particular targets you were trying to reach with your campaign, the routes of influence and the messages you used by asking yourself:- Have the people who were supposed to hear the messages about your campaign heard them?
- If not, how can you better reach these targets?
- How were the messages interpreted by those who heard them?
- Did your targets respond positively?
- Which messages about your campaign worked and why?
- Which did not work and why?
- Which activities worked well?
- Which were not effective and why?
- Were there any unexpected results of your campaign?
