The Westminster Fly-In
Every October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month Breakthrough runs its annual flagship training and lobbying event for Breakthrough CAN members, the Westminster Fly-In.
You can join members of Breakthrough’s Campaigns & Advocacy Network (CAN) to work towards improving national and local breast cancer services. At the Fly-In, you can hear inspirational stories from other CAN members who have improved local breast cancer services, find out how to develop your campaigning skills at training workshops and learn about current breast cancer issues. Meet other breast cancer advocates and share your experiences and successes, and develop a relationship with your Member of Parliament.

MP meetings
We’ll arrange for you to meet face to face with your Member of Parliament to enable you to gain their support for breast cancer issues and make the first steps towards a long-lasting and successful relationship.
Campaign clinic
Bring along your local campaigning queries and experiences and get one on one coaching and support from experienced campaign professionals.
Advocacy Fair
Browse through the exhibition stands at the Advocacy Fair and find out about new opportunities to put your campaigning and advocacy skills into practice.
Workshops
You can take part in a broad range of interactive workshops on current breast cancer topics to develop your campaigning and advocacy skills and keep up to date with current themes and issues relating to breast cancer.
Health policy consultations
Join representatives from the leading political parties and tell them what you think about their health policies and what they mean for breast cancer patients and their families.
Fly-In Buddy scheme
If you’re a first time attendee, you can request a Fly-In Buddy to guide you through the Fly-In. All Fly-In Buddies are experienced breast cancer advocates and campaigners and Fly-In Buddies are trained to listen, coach and support you to gain the most from your time at the Westminster Fly-In.
