ghd have supported Breakthrough Breast Cancer since 2004 and to date have raised over £1.1million through the sale of the pink styling irons, with more yet to come from the sale of the irons during October 2007.
The hot pink styler with roll mat and carry case were back by popular demand during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2007. The hot pink styler, on sale in leading hair salons throughout the UK, sold at £135 with a £10 donation to Breakthrough
Salons Pink It Up
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2007, hundreds of salons throughout the UK turned pink in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and ghd’s Pink Campaign. The money is still rolling in but so far this year over 700 salons have raised £155,500, which is absolutely amazing.Salons hosted a range of fundraising activities which included pink days, raffles, sponsored events, fancy dress, open evenings, leg waxing, pink cake sales and lots more.
The top fundraising salon was Evolution Hairdressing, in Birmingham, who raised an amazing £5363 and won the top fundraiser prize of a Christmas party up to the value of £2000, which was kindly donated by ghd. Breakthrough Breast Cancer would like to thank all of the salons that fundraised during October.
