Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association

The Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association has been a generous supporter of Breakthrough since 1996, with donations now totalling £173,500.
We believe that two different cancer charities working so closely together can only enhance the benefits to both patients and research.

Carole Cowin, President, Isle of Man Anti-Cancer
Association
We are lucky to be working together towards a future free from the fear of breast cancer for the 11th year.

The association provides funds for the purposes of cancer research and medical and scientific development.

Most recently, the committee has supported the Breakthrough Generations Study, to help meet the costs of women taking part who are from the Isle of Man. The study, which will involve 100,000 women from across the UK and span 40 years, aims to discover the causes of breast cancer. To find out more, please visit www.breakthroughgenerations.org.uk.

We have always admired the work that Breakthrough undertakes and, more importantly, achieves. It is vital that you keep going forward.

Association
Also, the committee has recently supported Professor Clare Isacke's work at the Breakthrough Research Centre, by contributing towards the costs of a Clinical Fellow within her team. The research aims to determine whether the fluid in the breast contains molecules that can predict how likely cancerous cells will spread to form a secondary tumour.
