Standard Chartered Great City Race
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who ran for Breakthrough Breast Cancer in this year's Standard Chartered Great City Race!
A record 6,500 City workers took to the streets of London on 17 July 2008 to race around the Square Mile and raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. For the 2nd year running Olympic Gold Medalist Colin Jackson supported the race by starting the runners on their way around the 5km course.
In true Breakthrough spirit we had a team of 60 runners giving the City workers a run for their money, joined by our very own Breakthrough Apprentice team made up of past show contestants Syed Ahmed, Paul Callaghan, Ian Stringer, Sophie Kain and Alexa Tilley.
The event was a huge success and has raised a fantastic amount of money for Breakthrough's work. Sponsorship is still coming in and it looks like we're on track to beat last year's £75,000 total!
