Breakthrough Groups

Breakthrough Groups are teams of dedicated women and men, who play a vital role in raising funds for our research and building awareness of breast cancer in their local area.
The Breakthrough Isle of Man group
We have just had a fantastic Bra Dash through the streets of Douglas, on the Isle of Man ... we ran through the streets to huge cheers!

Altogether, Breakthrough has 41 Groups around the country, from as far a field as Aberdeen and Penzance, and ranging in size from Groups of 2 to 18 people!

In the 13 years since Breakthrough was founded, they have raised over £2 million.

Supported by a dedicated staff member, Breakthrough Groups:

  • Organise fundraising events.
  • Act as ambassadors for Breakthrough in their local area.
  • Talk to the local media about breast cancer issues.

All of our Groups are entirely voluntary, giving their own time to support Breakthrough's work, and are linked to Breakthrough by a written constitution.
