The Challenge is an extremely personal and emotional experience. In return for reaching their target, Challengers can honour someone they love by nominating a name to be permanently displayed on the Challengers' Wall at our Research Centre.
The Challengers' Wall recognises the bravery and strength of those who have been affected by breast cancer and the enormous contribution of the Challengers in making the Research Centre reality. There are over 4,500 people honoured on the Challengers' Walls.

"The Wall represents how and why I’m at the Centre. The Challenge helps to fund my research. And the Wall reminds me of the reason I’m here – to ensure that in the future, we have a world with fewer people affected by breast cancer."

Mark Bradford

"It has been a pleasure to be involved in the £1,000 Challenge for Breakthrough, because I know from personal experience what it is like to see a loved one die from this disease. I wanted to ensure that I could do something positive out of this tragedy, to help other sufferers and to ensure money was raised to find a cure. I am proud to have my late wife's name on the Challengers' Wall as it is a permanent reminder for my children and future generations to come."
Mark Bradford, £1,000 ChallengerThe following names have been nominated by Breakthrough’s successful £1,000 Challengers. The names are permanently displayed on three Challengers' Walls at our Research Centre. They represent those who have overcome breast cancer, those who have sadly lost their fight to breast cancer and those who have made our fight against breast cancer possible.

The Challengers' book of honourOn nominating the name of a loved one to appear on the Challengers' wall, you will also be given the opportunity to make an entry in the Challengers' Book of Honour. Here, you are able to write as much as you wish about, or to, the person you have nominated.

Thank you to all our £1,000 Challengers who have helped us work towards our vision; a future free from the fear of breast cancer.
