Double whammy! Breakthrough wins two industry awards in one week

  • The Business in the Community Cause Related Business Award 2006 for our partnership with Marks & Spencer

  • The Institute of Fundraising Most Effective Corporate Relationship Award 2006 for Bingo for Breakthrough

Marks & Spencer and Breakthrough Breast Cancer fought off stiff competition from Tesco Books for Schools and Boots Be Upfront to take home the prestigious Business in the Community Cause Related Business award 2006. Marks & Spencer is Breakthrough's largest corporate supporter and to date has raised over £4 million. For further details of the winning partnership visit www.bitc.org.uk

The IOF Most Effective Corporate Relationship Award recognises partnerships which demonstrated how, by being strategic about the relationship and by drawing in support from a wide range of stakeholders, both the charity and the corporate organisation can fulfil their goals. Bingo for Breakthrough enabled Breakthrough to communicate breast awareness messages to an audience of over 2 million women as well as smashing a 3 year fundraing target in 2 years, with £1.6 million raised so far. It also succeeded in bringing together an entire industry of usually very competitive companies to collaborate on one fundraising campaign which exceeded every one of its objectives.
